You dare question my mathematical abilities on an open forum?

I dont know what the fluffing blorg you fellas are talking about, but if you have a shield and someone throws pointy things at it, it wont be effective. If you however throw a boulder at the shield I am certain that you will cause some damage.
If your firepower cannot breach a defense. Bring more firepower.

Everything in game will be mathematically balanced, meaning that if you gitgud you should be able to wreck people.
Just know that all your worries are for naught since Godsk and I have come up with a super system that might be more super than super and that everything comes down to your skill in the end.
Nothing in the world has a true counter, nor does anything truely counter something.

Unless you have a very big bomb, I don't care how much of a demi-god you are, how many moons you can destroy or how big your belly kitten is. If the bomb is big enough you better get going or get ready for the skeletron wars.

    P.S.
Dont listen to Vlado the Mado, I'm the one fizzling with the numbers in the end lol

     I'm mostly just worried about this ⬇ ⬇ ⬇

Mhm, I just don't know if chakra limits will be able to be balanced well enough to make it reasonable, especially if people with "Gentle Fist" are around and can fuck with your chakra, and IMO that doesn't make much sense in the context of ninja tools like Ten-Ten's.

I just feel like it would be a strange counter to Ninja Tool users. I can understand it in the context of deflecting projectiles but I don't like the idea of Ninja Tool specialists being chakra limited compared to other builds especially when things like gentle fist exist, it just doesn't make much sense from a "canon"/logic perspective, it feels like a strange weakness for them to have -- I'd much prefer if they just had longer cooldowns on their tools, or if their tools just required more chakra rather than them just being capped.

  2. I was looking into getting Premium Ninja recently, but I'm uncomfortable with one thing.

    P7DTydF.pngCNz5I5d.png

I'm not comfortable sharing my address to purchase premium ninja, and I understand why it's necessary for some payment options - but for Paypal (or Stripe for that matter) is it necessary?

I'd like if the payment system were changed so that it only asked for billing information only when it's applicable, but for other payment options it was left out.

I don't think this is intentional or malicious in any way, but I value my privacy somewhat and when it comes to giving my information out to "less established" places it seems taboo to be so carefree.

The reason for the chakra cut is to directly prevent you from using big jutsu, and limiting the total amount of elemental jutsu you are able to use in that encounter. Hyuuga will directly counter most jutsu users if they can get within range, so the "jack of all trades" playstyle will not exist. There will be direct counters to playstyles you choose to a degree

I understand that, but in the context of Ninja Tool Specialists and Hyuuga I don't know how accurate that is, I certainly understand the Hyuuga being a defensive powerhouse against projectiles, but as an offensive force I feel like they would particularly affect Ninja Tool Specialists with the chakra cut opposed to "full" chakra shinobi, which doesn't really make sense to me.

Balancing certainly is a challenge, but it does get a lot of attention with specific staff dedicated for this solely. Rest assured that it will be well taken care of, and even if it happens to not go accordingly - we are very close with our community and are open for amendments. =]

If it's not good is it okay if we all pick up a stick and beat @Aetherweaver?

I agree, hence why I'm willing to cut the ninja's chakra significantly per ninja tool scroll. You are able to alternate ninja tools out of combat, so you will have to "git gud" if you want a broad skill with ninja tools in general (which is going to be an extensive skilltype)

Mhm, I just don't know if chakra limits will be able to be balanced well enough to make it reasonable, especially if people with "Gentle Fist" are around and can fuck with your chakra, and IMO that doesn't make much sense in the context of ninja tools like Ten-Ten's.

Ninja Tools will be taking the place of the trinket slots, limiting ninja to 2 at a time, and out of combat. These are meant to have combat altering effects that are continuously needed to be purchased or crafted.

However, like most things in SS, we have a decent system on paper. Having 2 ninja tools won't restrict playstyles as those, because in the future we can introduce trinkets that are meant for such playstyles. For example, whenever puppetry is introduced, we will release "Chakra Threads" as a Ninja Tools- requiring you to equip 2 Chakra Threads as your trinkets to even be able to use puppetry.

To directly answer your Ten Ten question.. most likely we will have like... "Great Ninja Tool Scroll" as a Ninja Tool which allows for using of ten ten style abilities, but reduces your chakra by an amount to balance the tradeoff of having higher level. ninja tools. Hope that made somewhat sense.

Balance is a big thing we're trying to go for here. Jutsu have counterplay, pros will always have cons. You have to use your ninja mind to overcome your opponents.

I wonder how well that will work, because theoretically you could have a "generic" build and then just have Great Ninja Tool Scroll and really negate the specialty of it - I think with significant trinkets like that you have to restrict other abilities and spells if it's equipped, otherwise it really loses it's gimmick.

  7. I understand that Ninja Tools are going to be taking the trinket spot and this concerns me for one primary reason

    giphy.gif

    Ninja Tool Based Shinobi.

I worry that people wanting to build their character to be like Ten-Ten or Aoi Rokusho won't have the freedom other Shinobi do because of Ninja Tools trinket classification. If we're going to classify Ninja Tools as trinkets then we need to ensure that there will be Ninja Tool Spells/Abilities despite some having individual items occupying the trinket slot, I understand how this might not be ideal because it could cause confusion (i.e: which Ninja Tools, the trinket or the spell, they're different.) but I still think it's something needed despite that - this might be something the team has already thought of, and I'd assume it is, but I still felt the need to ask for clarification or at the very least make it known that there is such an interest.

Just saying 'cone aoe, bleed on hit' is fine(shuriken) . The numbers are truly way out there, so they make no change whether they exist or not

Yeah I figured as much, the numbers exist as a broad reference and would obviously need to be adjusted to scale, but I don't have reference to any of that so I'm just putting in placeholders ^^

    Cracos the god of smackos

Yeah I feel that, I only really added them to give an idea of how they should perform - I can't really give a "fair" number to any of them because I don't have anything to compare it to, but I hope the numbers can do the job of explaining how they should work, even if they're not set in stone.

  11. Ninja Tools

    340?cb=20160225142714

This is a compilation of ideas and comparisons that will be updated as I think of them.

    Throwing Tools

    Spoiler

    Explosive Tags

    S9x0iSz.png

With some updated animation to better fit the style I think the Thorium Grenade could be a good stand in, although I would remove the stun and instead increase the radius to 8 yards along with increasing the cooldown to 3 minutes - I'm also not sure how possible it is, but adding a "fuse" so that it doesn't explode on impact also might be nice so that an unsuspecting shinobi has a second to retreat before the tag explodes.

    Shuriken

    xRr2NkT.png

So, obviously this isn't much of a tool so instead I'm just using it as a base, but heres my idea: a narrow cone of AOE that launches three shurikens, each having the potential to inflict a small amount of damage and if all three shurikens hit it inflicts a bleed that lasts some time that equals twice the amount of all three shurikens - this isn't alot of damage, but with an instant cast time and a short cooldown it could be particularly nasty - additionally I think it should have to be cast at some sort of range, like the spell spawns 6 yards away so that it can't be cast at point blank range, although I'm not sure how possible that is.

    Kunai

    AjDyOXk.png

Ideally the Kunai will be a weapon with a "spell" that is only available to those who have it equipped, this entry will only be addressing that "spell".

So basically I just want it to be Kill Shot, but instead of it being an instant cast it takes 3 seconds, and it has a moderate cooldown, I say that it should be something special like Kill Shot instead of it just doing raw damage/DOT to differentiate it from the Shurikens.

    Senbon

    Ud2lD23.png

Narrow cone of AOE that is continuously cast unless interrupted or ended by the user, it has a shorter range than it's heavier kunai/shuriken counterparts and it does little damage but it comes with the small chance to proc a lengthy stun through use of pressure points.

    Fūma Shuriken

    Y7hB5A4.png

A large slow moving shuriken that travels for a timed amount before separating into four separate projectiles - if you're hit with the main body of the shuriken before separation it should do a large amount of damage, but if you're hit with one of the post-separation projectiles each should do 1/8th the damage of the before said main body.

    Makibishi Spikes

    to761DN.png

Thrown on the ground they should persist for some time and have a considerable cooldown, if a pursuing shinobi should step in the radius of the spikes they should be slowed for a slight amount of time.

    Flash Bombs

    8TJOUcp.png

Should be thrown like a kunai and if a shinobi is caught in it's blast they should be feared for a slight amount of time.

    Tracking Pellet

    9JsbmXi.png

A small sticky pellet that can be thrown onto enemies to track them on your map, this is useful for following someone at a short distance or keeping track of shinobi making use of diversionary tactics - only one should be able to be used at a time and the cooldown should be lengthy, additionally the trackee should have some method of removing the tracker, although it shouldn't be instant and should require them to stop and take a second or two to remove it.

    Medical Tools

    Spoiler

    Food Pills

    eUSw7Ni.png

Literally just potions or food, you can carry over pretty much any from WoW - that being said having food pills that come with negative side effects would be nice.

    Bandages

    3Z6oo4O.png

Boring I know but there really isn't much more to be said, may as well let it cure bleeds too if used for the full duration.

     Curing Syringe

    vRqmQLT.png

Instant cast that cures poison and bleeds and comes with a long cooldown. (Basically just the Luffa trinket with poison bundled in) It should be able to be used on friendly shinobi but should only be able to be used by those with the necessary medical proficiency.

    Injection Shot

    YTryGJZ.png

Requires a medical proficiency, this tool is able to stun opponents and apply a damage over time poison, but whenever used on friendly Shinobi it provides a heal over time.

    Miscellaneous Tools

    Spoiler

    Ninja Info Card

    fsoNv3W.png

Primarily used for espionage and information gathering you spend a lengthy time observing a person and channeling the ability and if you are interrupted the cooldown resets - if completed you are left with a very basic overview of their stats and a small sketch of their personage, there should be a very long cooldown on this, maybe even an hour.

    Bingo Book

    CWwmikL.png

An item that allows you to access a private section of your clans forum that allows you to pool resources on potentially dangerous shinobi, this should somehow allow you to view the forum from in game (I'm not sure if this can even be implemented, but even so I think organizations should have an in character private section like this even if it cant directly be accessed from in game.)

    Puppets

    9shLIyk.png

Probably treated like a normal summon, similar to that of a hunter or a warlocks companion but would require the puppet to be equipped or at the very least kept in your inventory along with some sort of skill requirement to use the puppet.

    Giant Summoning Scroll

    781eb48e13b42c519195bcbe96427d30.gif

Casting time that propels you up into the air and gives you a second of invincibility before spraying out a variety of weapons over a large area, each weapon doing a different amount of damage or applying a different effect - this should have an EXTREMELY long cooldown.

    Ninja Ink

    tenor.gif?itemid=16739112

Allows you to summon a variety of different animals based on what you draw, each having their own affect, some being for surveillance while others are used offensively

    Barrier Tag

    8dVB9MO.png

Requires setup and the placement of multiple tags, but those within it's radius are subject to being trapped inside - conversely these can be used to block attacks.

With the help of other shinobi this can be deployed much faster.

    Ninja String

    suggested by @Weed

    image0.gif

String infused chakra that can be used to manipulate and redirect low level jutsu.

Strings will be puppet users option instead of having two hands for puppets you can have 1 hand filled with strings and depending on how advanced your puppetry is what allows jutsus and how many you can redirect of your own and reflect from your opponent.

When it comes down to it i honestly think my favorite is Bleach. It’s pretty basic of me but something about jacked magic dudes swinging magic swords at each other is my shit.

Definitely has some super cool fights, but I ended up dropping it after 200 episodes because of all the horrible filler - I think it would be pretty well up my list if the filler wasn't such a problem.

  13. 2 minutes ago, Okaze said:

Maybe we will look in to that down the line. The character models you see aren’t permanent we will be reworking them some time after launch. When we do that We will probably take another look at the movement animations.

Awesome, I'm excited to see where you guys go with it!

  14. After watching the Skillshot Jutsu Demo I noticed that the movement looked a little bit off because of the movement animations - I think it would be nice to have the option to toggle between separate races movement animations upon character creation, or alternatively having custom movement animations implemented although I'm not sure how possible that is - I think changes like that could help separate it from it's WoW origin and allow it to be a bit more immersive.

I also think that replacing casting animations with hand signs would go a long way as far as immersion goes, even if they're simple animations.

I understand that this isn't really a game changing suggestion, but it's something I noticed and thought to mention nonetheless - it probably shouldn't be first priority, but I hope it will be given some consideration.

I want to say Wind, but I also think it'd be weird to play an Uchiha who can't use Fire, just because Fireball Jutsu has a tradition attached to it.

If it follows the Naruto lore you'll eventually be able to have multiple natures, for example Sasuke uses Lightning and Fire.
